I really love granny squares, such a simple pattern but so many possibilities!
It’s all about the choice of the wool and colours. You can go really out of the town with different shade for each row, go ombre in gentle shading or bold and beautiful. Or you can just make one colour gorgeous granny squares. And it doesn’t end with squares, the same design can be made in to fabulous shawl or scarf. The choice is yours and is endless, that’s why we all love crochet granny squares!
I’ve shared with you my happy chair covers and today I’m adding few photos of the making of my granny squares. I’ve started with a circle.
One little granny square with flower centre is finished. Now you can add more rows of different colours. Because it’s so simple, it’s easy to crochet while talking to someone or watching telly. The worst part is always working all the ends nice and neat in.
Flowers are often a great inspiration for craft. Their colours, shapes and texture is something we like to copy and recreate.
This time of the year is so beautiful in the gardens with all the gorgeous flowers and colours around. Especially the roses here in England are amazing, it must be the weather, that makes them flower so well.
Here are some of mine to enjoy.
Sorry for the flower overload, but it’s so hard to pick just few pictures, when the flowers are soooooo gorgeous and give us so much joy.
This week has been really hot and summery here in the south west, even got small pool out in the garden for girls, they love it. When it’s hot, I miss the beaches in Spain sometimes, but then all the wonderful greenery and gardens make up for it for sure.
Enjoy your day and remember to stop and smell the roses 🙂
